Summertime at Siena

Napa may not be a staycation in the truest sense of the word, but it’s close enough. We would like to enlighten you on one more delicious reason to stay at The Meritage this summer. Think fresh. Offering fine Napa specialties created by Executive-Sous Chef, Laurent P.X. Berthon, and Jomar Guevarra, Sous Chef, guests can enjoy the latest summer offering of Panzanella Salad—a fresh, traditional Tuscan salad featuring ripe heirloom tomatoes, baby arugula, buffalo mozzarella cheese with micro basil topped with 25 year-aged balsamic vinegar and Tuscan extra virgin olive oil—served with a crunchy, warm Ciabatta. It’s light yet filled with hints of Tuscany panache.

“We have added some new summer dishes to reflect the light, yet aromatic flavors of the season,” says Chef Laurent Berthon. “The tastes balance with the body’s need for food that is healthy and appealing to all the senses, while not being too heavy. Summer is a time to slow down and relax and these dishes pair perfectly with that lifestyle.”

Ready to indulge your taste buds are succulent antipasti—from the Ahi Tuna Carpaccio and Polenta Lasagna with Fontina Cheese to Duck Prosciutto, Figs, and Gorgonzola, to good, old-fashioned “Mac and Cheese” and much, much more. The Siena pizzas are legendary with creative toppings of Pollo Arrosto, Marinated Vegetables, and an imaginative combo of caramelized onions, figs, basil pesto and Gorgonzola on the Ai Fichi e Pistou. Yum! Entrees are also amazing creations—from Grilled Diamond Ranch Kobe Steak, to Grilled Sweet Water Prawn Risotto, Polenta con Salsiccia Italiana, Seared Scallops Tagliatelle “Carbonara” and more. The entire menu is extraordinary.
