Not to say that the building hasn't been well thought out and beautifully appointed. I'm a modern hotel girl myself, but this hotel fits into the location and character of Napa and the beautiful California Wine Country perfectly. But what really stands out is the service. Clearly the philosophy from the top has permeated the culture through and through. Great, great team, beautiful hotel and AWESOME location, this is a 'Do Not Miss". Great service and incredible spa! From the minute we arrived it was all about service. The entire staff went out of their way to deliver an incredible experience. From Jeremy who suggested several great restaurants, to our bartendar who definitely knew her wine, to the shuttle driver that took us into Napa each evening. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The guestroom was spacious, clean and had a great balcony over looking the vineyard. The hotel has its own vineyard, so it would only make sense that they have a tasting room. BUT, this tasting room is in a cave. Yes, an incredible cave with amazing ambiance. The cave is also a great location for private parties. They have a very cool room that could host over 100 people. The same cave is also the location of their spa. I strongly suggest keeping one portion of your day for this spa experience. I recommend their signature treatment. The Meritage was a great stay, a wonderful value and I will definitely go back. Felt like we were a million miles away! My wife and I recently celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary at the Meritage Resort and Spa in the Napa Valley. Usually we like to travel to some far distant place so we actually feel like we're on vacation. We found out we didn't have to, at the Meritage we felt like we were in some distant country, not down the street from our home, we live in Napa. It was one of the most relaxing and refreshing times away that we have had. The resort is beautiful, the rooms exceptional, the staff courteous, the food incredible, what more could you ask. In short, we loved it! |
